How does YT Transcript work?

It identifies a YouTube video from the URL and attempts to retrieve caption tracks that YouTube makes available for that video.

Does it download the video?

No. The current version is built around caption retrieval and an embedded YouTube player.

Does every video work?

No. A video can fail when captions are unavailable, restricted, or inaccessible from the hosting server.

Can I choose a language?

If multiple caption tracks are available, the transcript page displays a language selector.

Can I download the transcript?

Yes. The current interface supports TXT and SRT export, plus copying clean transcript text.

Can I click a timestamp?

Yes. Clicking a transcript line opens the embedded video at approximately that point.
